Warranty Information

This warranty does not cover exterior finish or wire rope. The standard one-year warranty for AmSteel®-Blue does apply if sold and installed with the VIPER winch at the time of purchase. Using your winch for anything other than vehicle recovery will void your warranty. Examples of such use include, but are not limited to: Commercial applications Industrial applications Hoisting Towing Abuse or improper care of your winch will void your warranty. Examples of abuse or improper care/usage include, but are not limited to: Damage from impact, installation mistakes, and improper usage Failure to allow your winch to "rest" (be off for 60 seconds after 30 seconds of use) during a pulling cycle Overloading beyond rating Lack of appropriate care, maintenance, and service as outlined in our Service Guide Modification of any component or part of the winch and/or cable Power-washing the winch Plowing with a VIPER winch that does not have a load-holding brake Using ATV/UTV throttle in conjunction with winch operation 'Mechanical coverage' includes and is limited to: Spool Braking system Gears Housing Clutching system 'Electrical coverage' includes and is limited to: All wiring harnesses Wireless system Contactor/relay/solenoid Rocker switch Motor armature Motor housing and magnets End cap and brush assembly 'Expected maintenance' includes: Unwinding steel or synthetic cable after each ride, rinse and let dry Carefully rinse winch (DO NOT POWER WASH) Check electrical connections and wiring to make sure it is clean and there are no snags or tears in the cables Re-grease entire system at least once per year. MotoAlliance is available for this process if you send the winch in with prepaid return postage. Examples of non-warranty coverage include, but not limited to: Roller Fairlead Steel Cable (AmSteel®-Blue rope does have a one (1) year warranty.) Rust Labels and paint Grease This warranty is only valid for customers in the lower 48 United States.
